3 Steps To Creating A Highly Productive Morning

3 Steps To Creating A Highly Productive Morning

I have always been a morning person. You know, that annoying type of person who rolls out of bed ready to solve the world's problems as soon as her feet hits the floor. I find that I do my best work early in the day before the distractions of life take over. If you, on the other hand, are not a morning person and find that you struggle with getting your day started in the right direction, here are some tips from my morning play book that can help you turn that around.

1. Make a list the night before.

This may sound simple, but writing down a "list of intentions" the night before will help you begin your day with focus. You will wake up knowing exactly what you need to do that day and you will feel more centered and organized. I can go to bed with a million and one things on my mind but if I don't write them down, I wake up the next morning feeling scattered and not able to remember half of what I was thinking about the night before.

If you are the old fashioned creative type that loves the art of writing, keep a cute journal by your bed to write in. If you are an app geek, you can use a tool like Evernote {there are lots of great free YouTube video tutorials on how to use it}.

2. Self care is #1.

Ensure that you are making time during the day that works best for your schedule to take care of YOU. Devotional time, meditating, going for a walk, working out, personal development, a cup of hot tea while reading; whatever activity that makes you feel centered, at peace and provides clarity. I find that when I start my day with activities that channel positive energy, my day goes more smoothly and productive.

3. Eliminate distractions.

Smartphones, social media and television can be time suckers that derail your productivity. I had to work on a great deal of self discipline when I became a work at home Soulpreneur not to open Facebook or any other type of social media until after I had worked through other more important tasks. Time is money. As a business owner, its learning to spend your time wisely on activities that grow your business and personal development and eliminating any distraction that will take away from progress and growth.

Google Chrome has a great tool called TrackingTime that can help you manage your projects, stay organized and measure your productivity.

Whether you are a morning person or not, following these simple steps can increase productivity and create more success in your business. Create a morning action plan that works with your schedule and goals keeping in mind that daily consist action is key.

What are you favorite tips for being more productive in the mornings? Would love to hear from you so be sure to leave a quick comment xo
